The Central Indiana Youth Barbershop Chorus (CIYBC) is a chorus of young men and women (ages 12-18) who sing 4-part a cappella barbershop music. It is supported by choruses of all three international barbershop organizations (Barbershop Harmony Society, Harmony, Inc, and Sweet Adelines International) and is targeted to any youth who want to sing and learn about a cappella (unaccompanied) 4-part harmony singing. We are proudly directed by Janet Foster, a 30+ year barbershopper who has various championship awards including 2 Harmony, Inc Quartet Championships.
When and where do we meetThe chorus meets weekly at E 10th St United Methodist Church,2327 E 10th St, Indianapolis, IN on Tuesdays from 6:45-8:45pm. Click here for a map to get to the church. The church is 2-3 short blocks west of Rural on 10th. To get to the parking lot, turn from 10th St onto Keystone, on the east side of the building. The parking lot is just ahead on your right. We rehearse in the sanctuary, so as you enter the building from the parking lot, turn right up the stairs and down a short hallway then turn left into the sanctuary.
Our MissionThe Central Indiana Youth Barbershop Chorus provides education and vocal music opportunities for students, helping them to achieve personal growth and development, while experiencing the joy of singing four-part barbershop harmony.
